The Life of a Writer
There are two sides to the writing life: the solitary production of personal stories with all its intimate rituals; and the business of writing—working with an agent, an editor, signing contracts, chasing money, and (unless you are Elena Ferrante) traveling from festival to festival and making a public performance of oneself. In this workshop, we’ll chat about the various aspects of both the writing process and a writing career.
Please bring 800 words of your own prose. You may be asked to read and/or to answer questions about your writing process. This workshop is aimed at Master Class level, but everyone is welcome.
