Writing Your Life
We write about our lives for many reasons: to understand, to honour, to exonerate, to entertain, to heal. But when we finally sit down to begin, we often find ourselves overwhelmed by the magnitude of the undertaking. How can we write convincingly about ourselves? How honest should we be? How honest can we be? Where should we begin, and how do we know when to stop? In this workshop, you will explore the story of your own life through a series of writing exercises designed to provoke, to challenge and to inspire. By the end of our time together, you will have written the opening lines of a compelling piece of memoir, and you will have begun to unlock the literary potential of your own life.
