Dare to Describe
Whether you write with flowery descriptions or in short terse sentences, we all must use description in our work. How else would we know what was happening in the scene, with the character, and of course with where we hope to go with the plot. In this freeform workshop (part lecture, part discussion) we’ll look at how authors use various techniques to effectively describe what they want the reader to know, be it hidden themes, foreshadowing, or something more. Bring a sample of your work that shows description to discuss with the group.
