Let’s Start At The Very Beginning
The beginning of your story—fiction or non fiction—does much of the heavy lifting. It establishes whose story it is, what the protagonist wants, and what’s at stake for him or her. We will look at examples of beginnings that work and discuss why they are successful, as well as what doesn’t work and why. Everyone is invited to bring in the first two pages of a story they are writing to be critiqued. You will leave with a better understanding of how to begin, as well as tips on how to revise your beginning. This workshop is good for all levels.
