Motive, purpose and tools
This is a practical workshop with sincere questions and multiple answers.
What is the motive and purpose of a writer? Why does he write and for whom? What are his intentions and motives? We will ask ourselves as well as examining other authors and their purpose. Are we always characters in our own stories? We will examine the basic tools of the journalist and see how he can assist the writer on his expedition. Who, what, where, when, how and why? Know the rules in order to know how to always break them.
This course will start with short exercises before a lecture and end in longer exercises, readings and discussions. (Material that has been taught in creative writing at master‘s level at the University of Iceland.)
Kristín Helga’s appearance is supported by Reykjavík UNESCO City of Literature.
