On Memory and Memoir
How do you decide what to include when writing memoir? How do you tell the truth when looking back from a great distance? What belongs to you, and what’s off limits? In this workshop we’ll discuss the many issues of memoir, including creating a story arc, separating the real from the invented, and the obligations the writer has to others – both living and dead. We’ll also look at the various ways memoirists have dealt with recreating conversations from the past.
