Ármann Jakobsson is a writer living and working in Reykjavík who has authored nine works of fiction and several scholarly books. A professor of literature, he has worked within various genres, including children’s literature, crime fiction, historical fiction and microprose, and his The Troll Inside You examines attitudes to the otherworldly in medieval Iceland. Many of his novels explore the manipulative powers of narrative and the capricious nature of meaning and several are in dialogue with Old Norse sagas and Icelandic folktales.
