Man Booker Prize nominee
Madeleine Thien is the author of the story collection Simple Recipes, and three novels, including Dogs at the Perimeter, finalist for Berlin’s International Literature Award and winner of the Frankfurt Book Fair’s Liberaturpreis; and Do Not Say We Have Nothing, about art, music, and revolution in China, longlisted for the 2016 Man Booker Prize. Her work has been translated into 25 languages, and her essays have appeared in Granta, the Guardian, the Financial Times, Five Dials, Brick, Al Jazeera, and elsewhere. Her story “The Wedding Cake” was shortlisted for the 2015 Sunday Times EFG Short Story Award. The daughter of Malaysian-Chinese immigrants to Canada, she lives in Montreal.
