
Sigurbjörg Thrastardóttir
Nordic Council Literature Prize nominee
Sigurbjörg Thrastardóttir (Akranes, 1973) is the author of eight poetry collections, two novels and a few staged plays. Amongst her publications are the poetry cycle Blysfarir (Torch Marches), nominated for the Nordic Council Literature Prize in 2009 and later released in German and Swedish, the poetry cycle Brides, on outfits and anxieties, and the flash-fiction collection The Fearful Trumpeter and Other Stories. Her poems spice up a brand new photography book on Iceland, and her mini-play Decent People, on 20th century Nobel Prize author Halldór Laxness, was recently premiered at King’s Place in London.
Sigurbjörg Thrastardóttir will be reading at the Iceland Writers Retreat pub night on Saturday 14th April 2018.
